Updated The new iPad is here
Updated: Story still developing but here is what I have:
- Given all of the rumors, there is no clear picture of what the name will be. It was referred to the for the duration of the even as the “new iPad”. No HD or 3 were spoken.
- 2048 x 1536 Screen. That is greater than HD, which is 1920x1080. That means higher than most current HD Television. This is monitor level graphics.
- Quad-core A5 processor.
- 5MP camera with Autofocus, IR filter. backside illuminated sensor , 5-element lens, and software image stabilization
- 1080p video recording with software stabilization?, 30fps
- Voice dictation
- 4G LTE at 73Mbps, HSPA+21Mbps and DC-HSDPA at 42Mbps, Via Verizon and AT&T
- 10 hours of battery life. (9 hours on 4G)
- 9.4mm thin, weighing 1.4lbs (slightly heavier, but there are extra batteries inside, so, no bad considering)
- $499 for 16GB, 32GB is $599 and 64GB for $699, Available in both Black & White (4G its $629, $729 and $829, respectively)
- Available in stores on March 16th, in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan
- All the stock apps have been updated and optimized for the higher resolution screen
- The iWork and all of the iLife apps have been updated. iPhoto has been invited to the party.
Update:
- The current iPad 2 16GB will be available starting at $399
